One of Canada’s most recognized icons, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Musical Ride, performed recently in Banff, with the troop of 32 horses and riders performing a variety of cavalry drills choreographed to music at the Banff High School Grounds.

The Musical Ride is a formal event showcasing the equestrian skills performed by thirty-two cavalry who are regular members of the force. The event is held in Canada and worldwide to promote the RCMP. The first official ride was held in 1887 in Regina, Saskatchewan and commanded by Inspector William George Matthews.
