Canada Day Celebrations
Wednesday July 1st, 2015
“O Canada! Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North, strong and free!
From far and wide, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free !
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.”
Every July 1st, the town of Canmore comes together to celebrate Canada’s birthday. And this year will be no different, with our grandest Canada Day Celebration yet.
As is traditional, the festivities commence bright and early with a pancake breakfast in Centennial Park.
Next is the Canada Day Fun Run hosted by the Nordic Ski Club. Beginning at Centennial Park, the run loops around the town, following its trails, finishing back at the park with time enough left to be rewarded with a helping of pancakes and maple syrup!
The centrepiece of the festivities launches at 12 noon – the famous Canmore Canada Day Parade!
The Centennial Park festivities will continue from 1:00pm till 5:00pm, featuring music and ongoing family activities.
The festivities will close with a bang! with the traditional Canada Day firework display from 10:30pm at Millenium Park.
